California poppy seeds
Some versions point out that poppy crops as the raw material of the psychoactive substances production from natural origin. The first plots known were detected in Colombia between 1983 and 1984 as experimental crops. Other sources point out the beginning of poppy crops as an illicit acts, they started in 1987, at the same time that cocaine prices started to drop.
At the beginning, when california poppy seeds were not well known, neither its economic benefits nor its illegal consequences; the california poppy seeds were used by companies as silent partner (majority shareholder) from urban origin, the company provided the seeds and technical assistance and the indians or farmers contributed to this company with their lands and work. Salaries were paid half and a half, that is, each part contributed a 50% of its cost. The silent partner made the marketing and the industrial partner made the vigilance. The business was pretty lucrative for strangers but allowed Indians and farmers to receive very, very high profits for their work too. Little by little, step by step, the silent partner’s figure has been limited just to marketing duties. In the meantime the farmer or Indian appeared more and more as growers. It existed and still exists another form: land renting. A lot of cocaine growers came back to their original towns attracted by the poppy prices, in contrast to the cocaine price drop. Some growers opened old stubbles in order to install new plots, others arrived as tenants.
These poppy seeds are mainly catagorized as: Eschsholzia. And it has various subspecies. In cool environments they are considered as annuals, but in warm environments, they act as perennials.
